canaIRL helps Catholics in the Washington, D.C. metro area meet in real life and discern with intention. We exist for young adults and others who want genuine Catholic friendship, vocation, and community — not a feed of strangers.

This is not a dating site. There is no browsing other people’s profiles, no swiping, and no searching for matches. The app helps you find verified Catholic gatherings, show up in person, remember the people you actually meet, and grow through prayerful discernment.

Who it’s for

• Community members — Catholics discerning friendship, marriage, and vocation through real events
• Event organizers — Parishes, young-adult ministries, shrines, retreat centers, and Catholic organizations who want to list trustworthy gatherings

How it works

1. Know yourself — Name what you’re asking God for and complete a private self-portrait (a mirror, not a public profile).
2. Show up — Add verified events to your plan, set one social intention, and check in when you’re really there.
3. Meet & connect — Contacts can only be made between people checked in at the same event.
4. Reflect & discern — Heart-check gatherings and journal privately on the connections you make.
5. Grow toward marriage — When something grows serious, the Church’s wisdom, mentors, and marriage preparation lead — the app steps back.

Your profile is never public and never searchable. It is shown only to people you’ve checked into an event with — and only what you choose to share. New profiles are reviewed by our team to keep the community genuine.
